Server #8 [New York] is getting an overhaul. There’s been a good deal of discussion over the past few weeks on what direction we want to take this server. We were running surf maps, but last night we switched over to 2fort to test things out. This is from the first night, had quite a few [N] peeps on.

Today we switched it up, switched to our 2fort night tweaks with 5 second respawn.. carnage and goodtimes ensued.

So its November 3rd now, and after a little bit of fumbling around, I managed to get all the pictures of the pumpkin contest (also known as Jibs Contest Of Noiice) sent over to TheJib so he could judge.  As some of you may know we were offering up a single prize of a Steam Gift of Left 4 Dead to be awarded by Jib.  In order to qualify you had to submit a pumpkin, the more badass the better.  The REAL prize though was the never ending fame and glory of knowing that you participated, and that the world looked on in awe at how cool your tf2 pumpkin turned out. 

 And… The winners are:

1st prize: Left 4 Dead, 1 year reserved slot, trophy honorz – Crab Spy (in cross hairs)

You have been solicited to make a new TF2 Newbs logo.. I tempted you with everlasting fame, karma, and a reserved slot. This much I can give you.. But wait that’s not all folks! For the extensive participation, I’ll be awarding a special honorz icon to the top 3 entries!

How does this work? I’ll tell you. The anonymity of it all is pretty shot because you can just look at who posted the pics in the thread : ) so rather than making some funky number system to keep this from being a popularity contest.. We’ll just go on the honorz system. (HA.) No really. You guys seem to be pretty non partial and since all the people who posted stuff are badass as it is, it shouldn’t be a problem.

We’re seeing big changes with the Newbs servers as of late, here’s the scoop..

Headshot + Grey Devils Server: Incentives are being offered for those who help to make this new server stronger. A rotation server that has a few tweaks for your slaughtering pleasure.. Crab battle sound effects during melee, Crits are off, FF at the end of the round WITH crits, Sudden death melee rounds, rock the vote.. Couple of tricks with the Newbs stamp of approval : ) 72.51.44.144 check it out.

Donations/Engineer Corps: I’m sure some of you have noticed some changes with the forums. Those who create content, and donate to keep our servers running strong are recognized on the forums and on the HLXStats. There’s a lot of developments in this area, so stay tuned.

Honorz on the forums: Honorz awarded to players who exhibit extreme abilities are now visible under your avatar on the forums. Thanks to octo’s pro coding skills.. Expect a lot more honorz to come.
